•   I can't open the PeopleBank website

The PeopleBank website is operational twenty-four hours a day so is always available for use. Try opening an alternative website, such as www.yahoo.co.uk or another popular site. If the alternative site does not open then the problem is likely to be with your internal connections to the Internet and you should contact your local IT Support. If the site loads, retry the PeopleBank website, ensuring you have entered the address correctly (www.peoplebank.com). Occasionally our website is offline for essential maintenance but the home page will be replaced with a message informing you when the site will be fully operational.

•   When I try to log onto the system I get a message saying my password is incorrect

The username and passwords are case sensitive so ensure that you do not have the CAPS lock activated on the keyword and try again, taking care with spellings. If you are still unable to log in contact your Account Manager.

•   Someone has found out my username and password and I want to change it

Please contact your Account Manager who will be able to arrange for a new password.

•   I have searched the CV database and it says there is nobody who matches my search

This may be because your search is too specific. At the bottom of the page click on the 'Edit Search Criteria' button to return to the search information page. Amend some of the details such as the salary range, the date in 'amended candidates since' field, the amount of required experience or the location and search again.

•   I've found a candidate on the database I like but there aren't any contact details

This is because all candidates on the PeopleBank database remain anonymous until they say they are happy for their contact details to be released to a potential employer. You must complete the Contact Request procedure (see CV searching section).

•   I've found a CV in the PeopleBank database that does have contact details on it

This is because that candidate originally entered the database as an applicant to one of your positions and so their details are freely available to you and you are free to contact them directly. This is the same as if they had applied to you by post and you had kept their details on file for a future position.

•   I've found a CV I like and want to email it to a colleague for their opinion

When you are viewing the CV, select the Print CV option in the Action drop down box. You are then able to see a standard formatted CV, which you can copy and paste into a Word document. This you can save and email as you would any other Word file. Alternatively, if you have access to the Distribute CV facility then follow the procedure laid down in the Additional Features section.

•   All of my adverts have expired and I want them to keep running

You do not have to start from scratch when your adverts have expired. You can simply republish your previous adverts. From the My Advertisements menu, click on the title of the advert you wish to republish, enter the number of days you wish the advert to appear for and click Update/Reinstate Advert.

•   I have missed some information off an advert that is now live

You can go back into the advert at any time and edit it, following the same editing procedure indicated in the extension of advert section above.

•   I want to know how many people have read my advert

All the adverts that you have published are listed in the 'My Advertisement' section and the column furthest to the right is the number of clicks (times the page has been visited) that advert has had. It may be that an advert with a low number of hits has not been placed in the correct categories for the intended audience, does not contain enough information or does not grab the attention of prospective candidates. Check the details of the advert and amend as necessary to improve the clicks count.

•   I've not had many applications for the advert I placed

This may be because the advert does not have the visibility required or is not grabbing the attention of the prospective candidates. Under 'My Advertisements, click on the adverts title and check that the advert is being displayed everywhere you feel it should be (your corporate website, the PeopleBank network, or both). Check through the advert text and see if it would be interesting to your intended audience. Make any amendments necessary and click on the 'Update Advert' button at the bottom of the page. If you require any further online advertising (for example on a job site such as Workthing.com or Inretail.co.uk) you should contact your Account Manager to discuss.

•   I've placed a candidate into the reject folder but have changed my mind and want to shortlist them

As long as you have not rejected them and sent an email you are able to change the status of the candidate's application. Simply select the CV in the application response section and from the action drop down menu, select the shortlist option then click go. The CV will then be placed in the shortlisted folder.

•   I've tried to send a rejection email to a candidate but their email address is invalid

The system will ask you whether you wish to change the status of the candidate without sending an email. When you click on 'Change', the candidate will be transferred into the 'Rejected and Sent Email' folder so as to keep the application response section up to date. No email will have been sent. Instead you should contact the candidate regarding the rejection via another method (post or phone).

•   When I go to the My Advertisements or Advertisement Response screen some of my adverts have disappeared.

The advertisements listed in these sections are subject to a viewing filter. To view all adverts under your UserName, select All on the filter and click on Show. This will refresh the page and now list all of your vacancies.

•   I don't know who I should send my Distribute URL link to

This link should be sent to the person who is going to place your advert on a third party website. If you place the adverts yourself on these websites then email the URL link to yourself.

•   I want to move an advert from my UserName to another person

Your SuperUser is able to action this for you so you should forward them details of the advert you wish to move (Ref. No. and Headline) and who you want to take ownership of the advert.

•   My advert template library does not contain the information I wish to select

In order to add information to the library, you should forward details of the required text, and the fields in which you wish the text to appear, to your Account Manager who will arrange for this information to be stored.
